tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8003787295154291661.post9116812162310142077..comments2023-12-03T20:06:08.763+08:00Comments on Suara Melayu Baru (SMB): Kerajaan Negeri Pulau Pinang terus mengakibatkan kerugian kepada negeri.AriffSMBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09990587860702910592noreply@blogger.comBlogger2125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8003787295154291661.post-4571161337236960442009-04-22T23:36:00.000+08:002009-04-22T23:36:00.000+08:00Published: Wednesday April 22, 2009 MYT 3:22:00 PM...Published: Wednesday April 22, 2009 MYT 3:22:00 PM<br />Land scam case: Penang has to pay RM14m as deposit<br />By DERRICK VINESH, MANJIT KAUR, CHRISTINA CHIN and ANDREA FILMER<br /><br />GEORGE TOWN: A High Court here has ordered the Penang state government to pay a deposit of RM14mil in relation to a land scam case involving the previous administration.<br /><br />Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said although the case was still pending in the Court of Appeal, the High Court here had on Feb 19 issued an order for a deposit to be paid to the court within two months.<br /><br />He said the court rejected Tan Hak Ju’s application for a mandamus order against the respondents – the Penang Chief Minister, state secretary and state financial officer – to pay the amount directly to him.<br /><br />“Instead, the court asked the state to pay a deposit of about RM14mil to the court within two months from the order date.<br /><br />“By doing so, the court said that the interests on the amount that the state needed to pay to Tan would be stopped.<br /><br />“Therefore, the interests on the principal compensation amount of about RM29mil as estimated by the court will be reduced,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the Penang State Legislative Assembly here Wednesday.<br /><br />In the previous state assembly sitting last July, Lim had said that the state could incur losses of up to about RM40mil due to negligence by the previous administration in approving a 4.3ha plot of land to be leased to an individual.<br /><br />Lim had also said that the land deal should not have taken place, as the plot was too big to be given to an individual.<br /><br />On Wednesday, he said the applicant could take action under “contempt of court” if the state failed to abide by the court order.<br /><br />Lim said state legal adviser Faiza Zulkifli would seek an extension for the deadline from the court to enable the state to table a Supplementary Supplies Bill in the next assembly sitting in July to withdraw the money from the state’s coffers.<br /><br />“We were unable to table this Bill in the present state assembly sitting due to insufficient time,” he said.<br /><br />Lim said former Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, who is now Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, should help share the burden of a mistake that was made during his tenure as chief minister.<br /><br />“The people of Penang should not be made to pay for a mistake made by a leader,” he said.<br /><br /><br />Ini adalah laporan dalam the star, saudara tidak lapor dengan betul dalam blog ini. kerugian ditanggung adalah kerana ketidakcekapan kerajaan bn dulu bukan kerajaan pr sekarang. kalau laporan ini tidak betul tan sri dr. koh tsu koon boleh saman the star dan lim guan eng.. kalu tidak saman betullah salah bn dulu.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8003787295154291661.post-85428540629507658832009-04-22T19:06:00.000+08:002009-04-22T19:06:00.000+08:00Asyik dok berpolitik bila ada masa nak buat kerja....Asyik dok berpolitik bila ada masa nak buat kerja...mulut pok pek pok pek mcm itik dan anjing menyalak asyik dok hentam orang kiri kanan, ingat 1 tahun tu 100 hari ka...ahli lalang baru (PAKATAN) pun angin gak..ingat baguih buat kerja vote depa rupanya bagi sedap mata sedap telinga dengar ceramah kerja mcm tak seberapa tak da apa yg berubah.
